Arvo Pärt, DE PROFUNDIS

Music by Estonian contemporary composer
Arvo Pärt.

I know and love his works for ages now, but only a few days ago, I started to search around on YouTube for videos ... Events and changing times beget new needs, and then things from the past reappear, taking their place, that was long ago pre-ordained.

Vocals sung by

Sungha Jung, THROUGH THE TEARS (by Craig Dobbins)

Simply outstandingly beautiful.

Sungha never fails to amaze me, but here, I just sat there in awe when I first watched this video ... And this awe did not wane a bit over the many times now, that I listened to Sungha's rendition of THROUGH THE TEARS since.

Billy Gilman, WHAT'S FOREVER FOR

The final scenes of the movie PAYING IT FORWARD ...

In an, albeit slightly different (and partly disturbing) way, this is what happens someplace else these days:

So many people, all of a sudden almost idolizing someone (who was and will always be so dear to a few who have been close to him) ... Idolizing someone who has died recently, and who all those others hardly cared for, before the tragedy happened! Now, they fall over themselves, saying how much they care - now, that it's too late, and they do not risk to have to stand in for him, showing the value of their alleged sympathy ...

And, at the same moment, they are also downright behaving like vultures.

It is so sad ...
