After quite a while, this is the first upload I made on my YouTube channel Kelvinwontcry2. The idea to do so has been in my head for many months, but only now, I could finally realize this project.
I did not want to upload this video for it's religious contents, and neither did I want to make a whatsoever political statement on the obviously never ending dilemma that takes place in Israel, with the struggles between Jews and Palestinians. The channel that I established in memory of Kel is not the place for such topics.

To me, the main message of this video that reaches me most, goes much deeper, straight to a very basic and inner level - and this message has a very strong relation to Kel.

Many of my viewers, subscribers and friends on Kelvinwontcry2, who have been talking with me (in comments and many messages) about Kel, and who thereby got to know him a little, may see some of the aspects that I mean. If you have any thoughts on that, or also questions, please feel free to leave a comment, either here, or in the video's comment section on YouTube; your feedback will be much appreciated.

Sadly, I never got to share Meydad's song with Kel while he was still alive. This is why I want to do this now, because I know Kel would have related very strongly to those innermost elements I mentioned above, and he would have loved this song and also Meydad very much  -  just as I do.

Do Re Mi ...

This morning, I received a wonderful surprise, by a dear friend featuring the video I include here on his YouTube channel. This song has a very special meaning for him and me, because it reminds us of someone we lost - Kel.

Kel loved this song, and he loved singing it himself. Me, I would give everything for hearing him sing this tune ... but sadly, this will not happen any more.

The downside to my friend's sweet idea of surprising me with this video is, that I cannot watch it on YouTube any more, because of the ongoing copyright struggles YouTube has with the big record companies, and also the German GEMA.

It is really disgusting how they manage to spoil and destroy the fun for viewers in general. And, at times, WMG, Sony and all the other ignorant copyright holders hit me where it really hurts, like with keeping me from watching this video once in a while, and remember Kel by it. They have done so with other videos in the past already ...

Still, I will not take that. And so, I upload DO RE MI - THE SOUND OF MUSIC here. Because I need to watch it once in a while. And I need to do so online. Some things have no logical reason - but still, they HAVE a reason, because they are important for the heart. And this is one of those things.

We Are The World 25 For Haiti

I discovered this powerful video due to a tweet from

and although it's the early morning,
after a long and intense night without sleep,
I can't help to first make the video public,
and share it on all places online I can reach.

______________________________

Here's my comment on the video:

What an important and heartfelt cause for this video ... and what an *awesome* collaboration of so many talented artists out there, coming together and joining forces to create this marvelous project!

Kudos to all the singers involved, and to the ones who edited the music and the video. I will put this video out at every place online I can reach, promise. I hope you'll get a gazillion views, because you deserve that!

Oh, and: Five stars, and favourited, of course :-)!

______________________________

And this is my Facebook wall entry:

WE ARE THE WORLD ... a song created in 1985 for a noble cause.

25 years later, in 2010, almost 60 talented artists from the YouTube community joined forces to create their version of this song, in favour of the people in Haiti.

Please go and watch, comment, rate and share this marvellous video!

I love YouTube, and awesome projects like this here is one of the reasons for that.

Sidney K. Wadjo, NO AIR (by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown)

If I should die before I wake
It's 'cause you took my breath away
Losing you is like living in a world with no air
Ohh..

I'm here alone, didn't wanna leave
My heart won't move, it's incomplete
Wish there was a way that I can make you understand

But how do you expect me
to live alone with just me
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe

[Chorus:]
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
It's how I feel whenever you ain't there
It's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gonna be without me
If you ain't here, I just can't breathe
It's no air, no air

No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
No air, air

I walked, I ran, I jumped, I flew
Right off the ground to float to you
There's no gravity to hold me down for real

But somehow I'm still alive inside
You took my breath, but I survived
I don't know how, but I don't even care

So how do you expect me
to live alone with just me
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe

[Chorus:]

No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
No more
It's no air, no air

[Chorus x2]
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
It's how I feel whenever you ain't there
It's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gonna be without me
If you ain't here, I just can't breathe
It's no air, no air

No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
No air, air

Libera, TIME

Libera
TIME
Solo: Joshua Madine
Second Solo: Benedict Philipp

I am the hours and moments of your yesterday
I am your time gone by
O'er days and ages fleeting, long since passed away
As endless years roll by.

I'll rise in the spark of life the dawn of all time.
I'll call to the world still yet to be.
The music is everywhere,
In life, in the sea and air
To join in the perfect song of all eternity.

I am the hours, the days and moments yet to come
Until the end of time
All the centuries and seasons that are still to run
As endless years roll by.

I'll rise in the spark of life the dawn of all time
I'll call to the world still yet to be
The music is everywhere
In life, in the sea and air
To join in the perfect song of all eternity

The noon of creation rings
And all in the heavens sing
The glorious song through all eternity.
I am the dawn of all time

Elie Dupuis, BANG BANG

This song was recorded
one year prior to
what happened on April 19th 2009.

And still,
it holds a lot of reference
for me
and for someone else.

BANG BANG is sung by Franco-Canadian singer

______________________________

Nous n'étions que des enfants
Nous n'avions que 5 ou 6 ans
On jouait aux mêmes jeux
C'était lui le plus fort des deux

Bang bang, il me tirait
Bang bang, il me blessait
Bang bang, moi je pleurais
Bang bang, et il me consolait

Bien vite passa le temps
Et nous sommes devenu grand
En riant il me disait
"Rappelle toi quand on jouait"

Bang bang, il me tirait
Bang bang, il me pressait

Bang bang
Il m'a quitté

Bang bang
Je suis blessé

Bang bang
Je vais pleurer

Bang bang
Sans être consolé

Dylan Cragle, HE TAUGHT ME (Original song)

The first original song of 13 year old

______________________________

Dylan, this song is a gem!

Lyrics that are so intense and touching, as they portray the sad, frightening truth of so many children all over the world ... Music that carries this song with a powerful and yet so warm arrangement ...

And in the middle of everything, there's you - bringing this so intense prayer to life, so strong and yet delicate, in the best of possible ways, with one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard, and with an emotional quality that touches and moves me so much!

Shayne Orok, COME HOME (by One Republic)

Hello world, hope you're listening
Forgive me if I'm young or speaking out of turn
But there's someone that I've been missin'
And i think that they could be the better half of me
They're in the wrong place, tryin' to make it right
And I´m tired of justifying
Come home, come home
'Cause I've been waitin' for ya, for so long, for so long
And right now there's a war between the vanities
But all I see is you an' me
And the fight for you is all I've ever known
So come home
I get lost in the beauty
of everything I see, the world ain't half as bad as they paint it to be
If all the sons, all the daughters, stop to take it in
Hopefully, the hate subsides, and the love can begin
It might start now, or maybe I'm just dreamin' out loud, but until then
Come home, come home
'Cause I've been waitin' for ya, for so long, for so long
And right now there's a war between the vanities
But all I see is you an' me
And the fight for you is all I've ever known (ever known)
So come home
Everything I cant't be, is everything you should be
And that's why I need you here
Everything I can't be, is everything you should be
And that's why I need you here
So hear this now
Come home, come home
'Cause I've been waitin' for ya, for so long, for so long
And right now there's a war between the vanities
But all I see is you an' me
And the fight for you is all I've ever known (ever known)
So come home
Come home

Things that Kel liked

This is a selection of things that Kel liked,
in real life, and on YouTube.

Every topic in the video is presented by an original quote by Kel,
or by by his best friend, Cory,
who was of invaluable assistance to me,
by sending a list of things he remembered,
that Kel was fond of,
to add up to the things I knew about myself.

I dedicate this video to you, Cory.
I could not have made it, without you.

CAROL OF THE BELLS

A wonderful tune
fit for the holiday season ...

Although:

It's such beautiful music
that I can listen to it
every day of the year.

Does that make every day Christmas Day?

Hm ...

I guess, I wouldn't mind.

The Christmas Shoes

It was almost Christmas time
There I stood in another line
Tryin' to buy that last gift or two
Not really in the Christmas mood

Standing right in front of me
Was a little boy waiting anxiously
Pacing 'round like little boys do
And in his hands he held a pair of shoes

His clothes were worn and old
He was dirty from head to toe
And when it came his time to pay
I couldn't believe what I heard him say

Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my Mama, please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry, sir
Daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful
If Mama meets Jesus tonight ...

He counted pennies for what seemed like years
Then the cashier said, "Son, there's not enough here"
He searched his pockets frantically
Then he turned and he looked at me

He said "Mama made Christmas good at our house
Though most years she just did without
Tell me, sir, what am I going to do,
Somehow I've got to buy her these Christmas shoes ..."

So I laid the money down
I just had to help him out
I'll never forget the look on his face when he said
"Mama's gonna look so great!"

Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my Mama, please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry, sir
Daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful
If Mama meets Jesus tonight

I knew I'd caught a glimpse of heaven's love
As he thanked me and ran out
I knew that God had sent that little boy
To remind me just what Christmas is all about

Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my Mama, please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry, sir
Daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful
If Mama meets Jesus tonight ...

Reinhard Mey, DIE KINDER VON IZIEU

Reinhard Mey

Words and music
by Reinhard Mey
______________________________

I include the German lyrics, and I also made an English translation that you can find further down below.

I am deeply impressed by this song, which tells about events that actually happened in 1944 ... I am saddened, yes - but not made helpless by it.

It is so important not to forget these things. It is true that decades have passed, and we, sadly, cannot change any of the atrocities that our forbears have caused.

But: We can and  must  remain always aware of those events, so that we are able to prevent them from happening again. And to do so, we have to be able to see the signs in time, and not let any of that happen again.

This is our heritage, and responsibility.

______________________________

______________________________

They were full of curiosity, they were full of life
The children, and they were forty-four in numbers
They were just like you, they were just like all children
At the house in Izieu, high above the Rhône valley

On their flight from the Germans rounded up,
And behind every name, there is bitter misery
They all stayed back all alone in this world,
Huddled together in these murderous times

In the year forty-four, during the time of the busy henchmen,
Of the spies and the bloodhounds, destined for the man-hunt
Here, no one will find them, up here in the mountains
The children of Izieu, here, at the end of the world

Joseph, he can paint: Landscapes with horses
Théodore, who brings fodder for the chickens and cows
Liliane, who can write so neatly, she shall be a poet one day
Little Raoul, who is singing the live-a-long day

And Elie, Sami, Max and Sarah, and all the others there
Every one  has  their gift, their talent, their part
Every one  is  a gift, and none shall be torn away
From those who look after them and love them, each for their own

But for long already, a dark foreboding hovers over every game
The fear of discovery overshadows each day
And behind the laughter, there resounds a dark warning
That every car that arrives might bring an ill fate.

On the morning of Maundy Thursday they came
Soldiers in long coats, others civilian-clothed, too
A sunny day ... they took them all, every one
Shoved them on trucks, not saying where they were bound

Some started to sing in their despair
Some were praying, and others remained silent
Some have been crying, and all went away
On the same path, into their torment

The chronicle shows exactly the list of their names
The number of the freight car, and to which train it was joined
The number of the transport, that took them to the camp
The chronicle shows, that none got away from the murderers

Today, I hear that we should leave it all be part of history
And that there finally must be an end to it, after all of these years
I speak, and I sing, and if I must, I will scream
So our children will know, who they were

The oldest one was only seventeen, the youngest only four
Led away from the Birkenau ramp to the chambers of gas
I will see them for all of my life, and I will keep
Their names, engraved in my soul

They were full of curiosity, they were full of life
The children, and they were forty-four in numbers
They were just like you, they were just like all children
At the house in Izieu, high above the Rhône valley

Yes, WHERE WILL YOU BE

Where will you be when you're not here
How many lives in this earth time
You are my soul and this you are
Two souls intertwined that's what we are

We can we walk hand in hand
All the life
Be the one everything to me
You I am dreaming

We have lived and known before
I feel it
Where will you lie

When will I know
When you are gone
Where I be and I will miss you
We are this love in this life
Two souls intertwined like once before

See this meeting, hand in hand
Every life
Be the one everything to me
You are my feeling

No need to fear this love of life
We are the truth of every earth life
No need to fear this life at all
We are the sun and everlasting life

Where will you be hearing this song
How many lives in this earth time

You are my soul and this you are
You are my soul and this you are

Where will you be

Jon Anderson STATE OF INDEPENDENCE

Jon Anderson, co-founder and long term lead vocalist and lyricist of the British Art Rock / Prog Rock band Yes, was my first real favourite singer. This fancy started back in the mid / end 1970's, and over the decades (... oh my gosh - I am OLD!), he has kept me fascinated with his work, and his voice.

In the 1980's, Jon Anderson collaborated with Greek composer and multi instrumentalist Vangelis, and the albums of "Jon and Vangelis" brought forth several pop classics.

One of those songs is STATE OF INDEPENDENCE, which many out there will know better from the cover version sung by Donna Summer. The original, though the song was composed and recorded by Jon and Vangelis in 1981, and released on their album THE FRIENDS OF MR CAIRO.

The version in view here comes from the project CHANGE WE MUST from 1994, in which Jon Anderson recorded songs from his catalog of compositions anew, accompanied not by the musicians of a rock band, but by a fully fledged orchestra, which I personally find awesome!

The images on the video represent not really any kind of visual ideas I would possibly have, combined with this song. But the video by YouTuber vzqk50, who is a devoted Yes fan, gave me the chance to put this song here.

Well, okay:
Some of the images, I like pretty much - although I'd rather see them "independent" from this song :-)!

Allan Clellard-Goddard, STREET CHILDREN (new version)

I discovered the first upload of the original song STREET CHILDREN, sung by back then 11 year old Allan Clellard-Goddard (and written by his Mum Deborah), as a video response to the YouTube video FOR THEM by Troye Sivan.

The very powerful lyrics of the song and the very special singing talents of Allan captivated me. I subscribed, and, by mutual video comments and messages, Deborah, Allan and I have become good friends over the months. And it was Allan who, on my request, recorded a rendition of Billy Gilman's song OKLAHOMA, as a tribute for Kel (as this was Kel's favourite song on YouTube), doing a wonderful job there that moved me beyond words.

So I was tremendously happy today, when I received this new version of STREET CHILDREN, remixed and edited by a fellow YouTuber, christoff555 aka Chris.

And Chris did a wonderful job here: All the original elements are still in place, and as stunning as they were, but the audio remix plus the very well edited video footage enhance the important message, that Deborah and Allan want to pass on, tremendously.

This video is really a wonderful start into the upcoming weekend :-)!
