Du, Prinz der Bläue (des Blauen Reichs)
Der über den Mauern tanzt
Zwischen den Drachen
Du, der Du über allen
Deinen Kindern bist, die knien
Mit ihren weißen Kerzen
Fliege ... Fliege
Weil unser Fleisch uns trennt
Fliege ... Fliege ...
Du musst fliegen!

You, Prince of the Blue
Who dances above the walls
Among the kites
You, above all
Your children on their knees
With their white candles
Fly ... Fly
Dance in the air without words
Your home is among the fireflies
Fly ... Fly
For those who raze the ground
"Hope" is a parable
You must fly!
You, whose pierced hands
Healed love that was chapped
In the heart of beggars
You, you who have been able to speak
To the stones of Galileo ...
If ever you hear me:
Fly ... Fly
Dance in the air without words
Your home is among the fireflies
Fly ... Fly
For those who raze the ground
"Hope" is a parable
Fly
(feat. Serge Lama)
You must fly
You must fly away
For us you must fly, and
Make the nightingales dream
Of our meagre lives, riveted to the ground
Because our flesh isolates us
From our soul, which is stuck in a straitjacket
Fly (Fly)
Fly (Fly)
For those who raze the ground
(For those who raze the ground)
"Hope is a parable
("Hope" is a parable)
Fly ... Fly ...
You must fly!

Bitte grüße Deine gesamte Familie sehr herzlich.
Mit Respekt und Dank
Sanechika

This is a video collaboration I participated in this weekend. The project was the idea of a talented young YouTuber who runs a channel named Collabovies.
The project was ignited and processed on very short notice, in the effort to reach out and show compassion to the earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan, and in order to ask every viewer to try and help, by making a whatever small donation to the International Red Cross or any other humanitarian organization that can support Japan in these times of devastation.
I have a Japanese YouTube friend named Sanechika, and when the news about the earthquake hit me, I was worried sick for him and his family. I wrote a message on Friday afternoon to his YouTube channel, but of course I had no idea if or when he might be able to read it, let alone reply to me.
To my immense relief, I received a reply from Sanechika on Saturday afternoon:
Hello Mr. Michel
Thank you very much for your kind message !!
Thank you for caring for us.
Fortunately We are safe.
We experienced such a big earthquake for the first time. When this earthquake was generated, I was in the school. I was not able to understand What happened. I watched surroundings. Buildings vibrated intensely. I knew that a big earthquake happened then. It was the very terrible scene.
An aftershock continues incessantly afterwards, I still felt an aftershock now.
Please send the best regards to your whole family.
With respect and thanks
Sanechika
This really took a huge load off my mind, and I was able then to really focus on the contribution I wanted to make to the collaboration video.
It felt like a very right thing to do, to include Sanechika and his wonderful music into my video, and so he and his guitar playing became the carrier and emotional base of this short video contribution of mine.
"History is in the making!", they said for days and days, about the situation in Egypt. Okay, I thought, I got nothing pressing to do, so let's take a look.
But: Being a witness of the times is not quite that easy ...
Last night (Thursday) I watched almost 3 hours of live coverage from Egypt, on Al Jazeera's English YouTube channel. But when Hosni Mubarak finally addressed the nation (and me), he missed to do what he was to do.
Today at 5:05 p.m. (my place), Vice President Omar Suleiman sneaked to the mics, and it took him a meager 30 seconds to make the announcement about Mubarak stepping down after all.
Now ...
Given I had some grandkids one day, what am I to tell them in, say, 30 years from now, when they ask me (like for a paper in history class on the subject), where I was during that historical moment?
5 Februar 2011 … Heute ist Kels 15. Geburtstag.

Autism is a very serious matter: One child out of 110 children is autistic, and even one boy out of 70 boys. And the numbers are rising continuously.
Medicine, science and research aren't even really decided yet on whether Autism is a disease, a disorder or a complex neurological defect. Theories and knowledge about causes and triggers for this state are just as multiple. Accordingly, studies and ideas about a possible treatment are as varied.
The numbers go up: More and more children showing autistic behaviour every year grow up into a world that they have the hardest time dealing with ... and so has this world in dealing with them, trying to offer them a place where they can feel comfortable, safe, and loved.
Autism is a mystery, a challenge and, ever so often a testing day by day struggle for the autistic child, teenager or adult, as well as for their families, friends and surroundings. But all the same, it is a wonderful and precious experience:
"There is no denying that living with Autism can be tough but it can be an adventure, afterall it's a life long journey... I wouldn't change Sam for the world - I would change the world for him!" Gillian Naysmith, book author and therapist on Autism (The Horse Noy Camp UK)
Finally ... A new video on Truedantalion's channel:
HELLO FROM WINTER WONDERLAND
Truedantalion is back from hibernation - in spite of the fact that winter is going on with full force here at my place, still :-)!
This is my first vlog in a long time, and my first video since last October ... gee, time flies! There will be more videos to come soon now:
For the Truedantalion channel, I am preparing a video on a very serious topic that I have been following since April 2010.
On Kelvinwontcry2, there will be a new video up on February 5th; I hope you will come and watch.
And I am also working on a video for a dear YouTube friend of mine - I will give you an update on this project as soon as it will be uploaded, which will hopefully be in just a very few days!
These past weeks have been not very productive here on my end, concerning everything going on online. And there's a reason for that: I have been (real-world) moving towards the end of the old year, and therefore first had to get a new online connection at my new place first - and as "the holiday season was upon us", this meant that everything slowed down, and things took way longer than usual.
As of January 17th 2011, I finally have a new umbilical cord reattached to my virtual belly button (what a picture, haha!), and can now start to make my way back to
- checking out tweets on Twitter, re-tweeting or replying to other Tweeters (and very seldom make a tweet of my own)
- reading the news feed on Facebookand occasionally post something on my wall (and basically never responding to any of the application or game requests I receive)
- catching up with my subscriptions on YouTube, writing comments, and replying to feedback I get ... plus I will finally make new videos on the Truedantalionand Kelvinwontcry2channels (preparations are running).
What I find nice about this is that my forced hibernation ends when outside my window, winter just starts to enter into it's second turn here.
Always anti-cyclic ... well, that's just me, I guess :-) ...
Truedantalion comes back to vlogging, kinda ... forced back to the front office by YouTubes never ending series of inventing and implementing things that no one really needs (to put it nicely).
So I made two vlogs in one day, a short one and a long one - and the long one even celebrated the fact that YouTube had done something really cool: Allowing regular users to now upload videos up to 15 minutes in length :-)!
Still, this treat does not make the AutoPlay function one iota better. Check out the video and find out more. Feedback by comments on my video or here on this blog here are welcome!
The video holds a video response with the second vlog I made on that day. And that one is 11:28 long :-). Comments are welcome on this video, too, if you post videos yourself on ouTube and have to deal with the layout and functionality changes they made in the "My Videos" section ... not that any of those would have been necessary!
I love Sherlock Holmes, and read every story and every novel that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote about the famous detective. And I also downright adore the British TV series from the late 1980's to early 1990's, starring Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes.
Dr Watson, friend, companion, partner in the criminal investigations and chronicler of Sherlock Holmes' exceptional adventures, plays ever so often an important part in the deductions of the master detective - but unfortunately not in the way that Watson might wish:
"It may be that you are not yourself luminous, but you are a conductor of light. Some people without possessing genius have a remarkable power of stimulating it. I confess, my dear fellow, that I am very much in your debt."
(Sherlock Holmes in THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES)
I love these strains of humour that occur, when Dr Watson starts to walk on the paths that are Holmes' very own, tries to draw logical conclusions, and then ever so often heads off in a direction that is almost 180° away from where the truth can be found :-)!
The beginning of the famous novel THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES is an excellent example for this.
______________________________
In this video, I play both characters, Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson.
Please be so kind as NOT to expect costumes, settings and props in proper style of the late Victorian age - I may be old, yes, still I was not born in 1864, but 100 years later.
I tried to take up the references from the story the best I could, but took a few, say, "artistic liberties", too:
Finding a mandolin at Sherlock Holmes' side, instead of his trademark violin, is one of those things. And the attentive viewer will see several Sherlock Holmes books on my shelves ... and he will also be finding Nemo, ha ha!
In life, it's the little things that really matter.
And when I discovered this video here in my subscriptions' list last night, I found exactly this thought portrayed there.
The idea that JJ had, is so simple and yet so nice, that I sat and watched smiling. It was an unexpected ray of sunlight that sparkled through the night here at my place :-) ...
I invite you to simply watch it and hopefully enjoy. If you like, leave a comment (always a nice thing to do!), and please feel free to share this video.
Those of us users who make and put up videos to YouTube,
and then those who watch them.
Rating and commenting are means of giving feedback, how you liked what you saw.
So far, so good.
Sharing videos is another key element - to spread the word about videos you like, by sending them to friends (and maybe foes, ha ha!), by the simple click of a button.
At least that's how it used to be.
Please leave a comment about your own current experiences with sharing videos on YouTube.
And feel free to share this video ... IF you can manage that / if YouTube lets you :-)!
Video response # 2 to Peter Oakley
aka YouTube user geriatric1927
In this video, I tell the story about a work colleague I once had, who was 78 years old and embraced the challenge of learning to work with a computer. I was his tutor, and it was so nice and also impressive to see how this gentleman tackled this task.
If I should die before I wake
It's 'cause you took my breath away
Losing you is like living in a world with no air
Ohh..
I'm here alone, didn't wanna leave
My heart won't move, it's incomplete
Wish there was a way that I can make you understand
But how do you expect me
to live alone with just me
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe
[Chorus:]
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
It's how I feel whenever you ain't there
It's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gonna be without me
If you ain't here, I just can't breathe
It's no air, no air
No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
I walked, I ran, I jumped, I flew
Right off the ground to float to you
There's no gravity to hold me down for real
But somehow I'm still alive inside
You took my breath, but I survived
I don't know how, but I don't even care
So how do you expect me
to live alone with just me
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe
[Chorus:]
No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
No more
It's no air, no air
[Chorus x2]
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
It's how I feel whenever you ain't there
It's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gonna be without me
If you ain't here, I just can't breathe
It's no air, no air
No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
No air, air

Fields created one of the great American comic personas of the first half of the 20th century: a misanthropic and hard-drinking egotist who remained a sympathetic character despite his snarling contempt for dogs, children, and women.
